Nicholas Webber is an actor and a musician.
He most recently recurred as the socially awkward, detail oriented CO Alvarez in the final two seasons of Netflix’s groundbreaking original series Orange Is The New Black. His other television credits include HBO’s Crashing, CBS’s Unforgettable, and NBC’s Law and Order and Law and Order: Trial By Jury.
Prior to Orange, Nicholas was best known for his extensive body of on-camera commercial work—AT&T, Apple, Chase, Heineken, Snickers, and Verizon to name a few—his favorite being a Crest spot that in spite of garnering multiple Clios and a Cannes Lion, never ran.
Nicholas has performed at The Public Theatre, Abrons Art Center, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, New York Musical Theatre Festival, Pittsburgh’s City Theatre, and most recently at BAM in an experimental review of the life work of 50s songwriter Connie Converse, entitled A Star Has Burt My Eye, directed by Paul Lazar.
Cinematic credits include Alison Bagnall’s feature Funny Bunny (SXSW), Jef Taylor’s short After You Left (Sundance), and Bryan Wizemann’s upcoming release You Mean Everything To Me. He also wrote and produced his own short Boneshaker, wherein a young performer’s anxiety is exacerbated though a series of absurdist encounters.
Originally from Southern California, he grew up studying classical piano and music theory. He received his Bachelor’s degree in acting from Carnegie Mellon University and while there, formed the roots-rock outfit NICKCASEY.
NICKCASEY have released four albums of original material—one self produced, the others with four time Grammy winning engineer Chris Shaw (Bob Dylan, Weezer, Wilco)—and have performed in monthly residencies at Rockwood Music Hall and The Living Room.
His favorite operas are Britten’s Peter Grimes and Debussy’s Pelleas and Melisande, and his favorite sports team is the Los Angeles Dodgers.
